Every year during Spring, daffodils sprout up not only on our nicely manicured lawns, but wildly along the major roads and highways in the area. As a photographer, I am always subconsciously looking for beautiful backdrops to use in photo sessions! Although I am often tempted to pull over on the side of the highway, cross the highway, unassumingly sit in the middle of the field that is located in the middle of the highway, and take the most perfect Instagram worthy photo... common sense kicks in and I refrain from putting myself and an others in potential danger (le sigh). So when I came across a small patch of daffodils off of the running trail (and next to the highway exit but not in the middle of the highway - score!!) I thought this is a much less dangerous spot and totally doable! Queue the family to dress in something nice, grab the camera and head out the door!!
I hope you enjoy these quick photos we grabbed in Purcellville, Virginia. The photos are of me and my mini (thanks dear husband for agreeing to join us on this session and grabbing some pics!). This is truly my favorite time of year, when nature wakes up from Winter's frozen slumber and sprouts to life. The time of year when the trees, grass and flowers bloom with incredible bursts of color, I too feel as if I've woken from the slumber and I too am sprouting to life! This year, the season has inspired me to create a photo series. For the next couple of weeks I will be on a mission to capture photos using various flowers as a backdrop to show the great beauty the season has to offer. If you have any suggestions on where I can find beautiful flowers or foliage, please leave a comment. Stay tuned!
